Have You Visited Your Local Animal Shelter?

Happy Friday!

It’s looking to be a crazy, busy one for me.  Girl Scout cookies arrive today!  About to head out the door to start the loading, sorting, and unloading fun.  First we sort by troop at location 1, then we sort by girl at location 2, and finally I sort my daughter’s orders at home.  Going to be a long day, but cookies will be coming your way . . . on Monday.  As soon as I return from the SCBWI Downstate Craft Retreat featuring Linda Sue Parks!! More on that next week.

But before I leave, I wanted to share a few pictures of my daughter’s awesome Girl Scout Daisy Troop doing a service project at our local animal shelter.  (Full Disclosure: I am one of her troop leaders).  The girls had a blast petting the cats and dogs.  Plus they went through three bags of kitty treats.  Every girl was very good about understanding she was not taking home a pet, but one mom did fall in love with an adorable pit-bull.

If you haven’t been to your local animal shelter yet, go for a visit.  There are lots of great animals who will soak up your love and attention, even if you aren’t able to take any of them home with you.
