Jennifer Kay is a children's writer aspiring to be published. She was raised in the Kettle Moraine Forest, but spent most of her childhood curled up with a good book. Jennifer has always created worlds and stories in her head, but she didn't begin writing her stories down until after she graduated from college and embarked on her career as a structural engineer. Now she loves to explore with her husband and daughter. Their adventures inspire many of her stories. Nature images displayed on this website are personal photographs from their adventures to Anderson Japanese Gardens.

Jennifer Kay has her MFA in Writing for Children and Young Adults from Vermont College of Fine Arts, teaches community creative writing courses at Rock Valley College, and is an SCBWI Rockford Network Rep. She was formerly represented by Kelly Sonnack of Andrea Brown Literary Agency and is currently seeking new representation. All fingers and toes are crossed in hopes that one of Jennifer's stories will earn her the privilege of publication one day soon.
